Kim has been practising Reiki for five years, completing her Master Practitioner level in May 2019. Kim has volunteered for Macmillan Cancer Support at Epsom Hospital for a brief time and is currently volunteering weekly at the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher which she finds hugely rewarding.
“Energy therapy among other similar subjects has always fascinated me so when I had the opportunity to learn about Reiki and witnessed how it improved my own health as well as my family and friends, I was hooked. I love Reiki and I hope to give as many people as possible the same opportunity to experience it first-hand. If anyone would like to try it but can’t afford it, please do message me as I’m always happy to help” Kim
REIKI
The word reiki (pronounced ray - key) is Japanese and in short means 'universal life force energy'. It is an energy therapy that gently heals; spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. When our own personal energy flows with ease, we feel balance and harmony within us and throughout all in our lives. Reiki can help to reduce anxiety, stress, and depression, it can improve sleep, mood, and our bodily systems which in turn improves our health and wellness. It's a very subtle therapy with a whole body, holistic approach, it’s deeply relaxing and promotes a calm, peaceful sense of wellbeing.
The tradition of Reiki was founded in the early 20th century by Dr Mikao Usui and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication. Reiki is a tradition that is open to all faiths and belief systems. Reiki naturally clears and restores the balance of the energies within us. The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is simple. The recipient remains clothed and comfortably lies on a couch or sits on a chair. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively, on or near the body using their intuition and training as a guide. There is no massage or manipulation. Reiki can be used on the person as a whole, or on specific parts of the body. It is also possible to receive Reiki at a distance.
