I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, registered with both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). I qualified in 2012 and since then have worked in a diverse range of therapeutic settings, including within primary and secondary care NHS services.
I offer talking therapy based on a formulation, which we develop together over our first meetings. A formulation is a way of understanding how everything fits together, and often helps to identify how or why difficulties have come about. Once we have developed a formulation I draw on my experience and the evidence base to plan a therapeutic intervention. My preferred models are CBT, ACT and green therapy, and my approach is integrative and person-centred. This means that I might use elements from different therapeutic models according to the difficulties that an individual is experiencing at any given time.
I specialise in working with adults aged 18+ and with a range of challenges including depression and anxiety disorders, but also where a formal diagnosis is not required or appropriate. For example, I can help with issues related to anger, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem and self-confidence.
