Julie is a qualified Individual and Couple counsellor having worked for Relate for a number of years and has a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Relationship Counselling. She previously worked for a number of charities in service provision including Samaritans and Breast Cancer Care.
Counselling and Psychotherapy have been a passion for Julie ever since she started her own therapy and found how it enhanced and changed her life. She feels she is on a never-ending journey of growth, awareness and self-improvement and would like to help others find this for themselves.
Life at times can feel tough and counselling can help us find ways to navigate through the ups and downs, as well as the possibility of greater joy and contentment. It can lead to self-understanding, a different approach to our relationships, exploring ways of being, even when we are in the latter years of life and struggling with new and ongoing life issues.
Integrative Relational counselling is a talking therapy with the focus of being in relation to self and other and this is used to enhance the working alliance between counsellor and client. The strength of the working alliance is considered to be the key factor in the success of the client’s experience of therapy and enhances the possibility of growth and change.
